Upcoming Events

My new album is out on Bandcamp NOW!

From Friday 24th July, you will be able to listen to all 6 tracks free to start with (up to three times) which is a cool 'try before you buy' Bandcamp feature.

Here's the link: https://lizarcanesinger-songwriter.bandcamp.com/

I think I always say each album has been a 'labour of love' but it really has been. Over almost 6 months of putting the pieces together, with tunes from up to three years ago, working with different musicians just to share the love a little bit, and bringing some of my most personal songs out to date - with the added gloss of James Mason's intriguing electronica vibes throughout.

As well as the overall album release:

In celebration, because this one feels like a real achievement, I've put the video for the first single 'Take Your Medicine' up before it comes to streaming.

The tune has strong country vibes but that's not the only vibe on the album - I'm becoming a genre spanner, to misquote The Mighty Boosh. You'll find allusions to dub, classic singer-songwriter, and some electronic elements thanks to James Mason on Funnybones (a song which is now twenty years old!) and Singing for You in particular.

Anyway I am just so proud of the work I've done to craft these tunes from the writing to the recording stage, and stunned by the beautiful work from the array of musicians and vibe merchants on the album (James Mason's input is enormous, particularly on two songs; Sam Scarrott's guitar work somehow reproduced the sounds exactly as I heard them in my head; and Mo Mashall just has the skill with his keys playing to add a layer of silk to any song).

I hope you like it - and I would welcome any feedback, good (radio play, reviews, comments, choosing tunes for your wedding song...!) or bad - let me know what you think.
